How this was made
Last reviewed
This site was researched and drafted with Claude (Anthropic) under Sahil Tayal's direction. Every source was opened and checked against the claim it supports before it was cited.
The rules it follows
- Every factual claim carries a numbered note linking to its source. Sources that could not be opened were not cited; claims that could not be sourced were removed.
- Primary documents first: CPCB bulletins and reports, government schedules and laws, then peer-reviewed papers, and journalism only for recent events.
- Where studies disagree, both are shown with their methods, and contested points are marked as contested.
- No live data, no medical advice, no product recommendations, no affiliate links.
The data
The year calendar uses Delhi's 366 daily values from CPCB's 2024 bulletins, extracted from each PDF and cross-checked against UrbanEmissions.Info's compilation. The method is on the year page. The AQI category colours are the ones CPCB uses in its own bulletins, and they appear only on data.
Reviews and corrections
The GRAP chapter is reviewed every October, because the schedule is usually revised before winter. Everything else is reviewed at least once a year. If you find an error, a broken link or a better source, please write via sahiltayal.com. Corrections are welcome and will be noted here.
Design
Set in Public Sans, with numbers in JetBrains Mono. The palette is haze, soot and a clear-sky blue; CPCB's six category colours are reserved for data and always paired with the category's name.
